Cold Wave Sweeps Telangana; Adilabad Shivers at 9°C

A cold wave has gripped Telangana, with several northern districts experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures. Adilabad recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 9°C, marking the onset of winter conditions earlier than usual. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the chill is likely to continue over the next few days, particularly during early mornings and late nights.

Authorities have issued advisories for residents, urging people—especially children, the elderly, and outdoor workers—to take precautions against the cold. Health officials have also cautioned against the use of unsafe heating methods to avoid fire hazards and carbon monoxide exposure. The sudden temperature dip has brought a noticeable change across Telangana, signaling the beginning of the winter season in the region.
